MDF

MDF is a type of hardboard that mainly consists of wood fibres which are glued under heat and pressure.

A major advantage of MDF is the process of its manufacture.  Fine particles are used thus the surface grain is almost invisible and the board can easily be painted and drilled.  The knotless board can also be veneered or laminated.
